Abstract :
In order to clarify the mechanism of partial discharge (PD) in an electrical tree, we investigated PD pulse sequence and PD current shape of an artificially-simulated tree channel in LDPE. The diameters of artificial channels were 30, 50, and 100 μm. The number of PD´s in a cycle increased with the increase of channel diameter. The width of PD current shape also increased with the increase of channel diameter. The effect of PD characteristics on channel diameter and its mechanism were discussed
