Abstract
This paper analyzes five types of chaotic systems and presents the digital implementation of each of them, using a system-level design methodology and targeting FPGA devices. It aims to validate the advantages of the weak nonlinearity found in Linz-Sprott systems, which simplifies the digital implementation while maintaining the chaotic behavior which is valuable in many application domains such as spread-spectrum communications and cryptography.
