Abstract :
Mathematical model of low energy arc discharge was established based on dynamic V-A characteristics of inductive circuits. The dynamic V-A characteristics are regarded as a line whose slope is a function of the inductance values. Analytical expressions of arc current, arc voltage, arc power and arc energy are given. It draws conclusions that arc discharge time is related to circuit time constant and source voltage. The gain of arc discharge energy can be used in assessing intrinsic safety of the circuit
