Abstract
CD-rewritable (CD-RW) phase-change optical disk with more than 10,000 overwrite cycles was developed. The present study suggested the importance of combined use of high strength dielectric layers with reduced amount of trapped gases in thin films by the controlled thin film fabrication process for improvement in CD-RW media cyclability.
