Abstract :
This paper will present an intelligent turbine flow meter based on processor MSP430F149. By making full use of a single chip´s ability to calculate and control, the instantaneous flux and the accumulative flux can be displayed instantly on LED display using serial data transfer. In addition, the parameters of the flow meter can be set to accommodate pipes with different calibers to improve precision. Also, the flow meter also has a remote data transfer module, which senses the flow and have it displayed on the screen. The flow meter can also be configured by a remote computer, changing its zero point and range, and running self diagnosis functions. Besides its use in gas turbine flow meters, the system can also be used for live displays of other speed and volume style flow meters.
