Abstract :
Frequency response analysis (FRA) is a popular method for the detection of transformer winding deformation due to short circuit. In this paper, the principle of transformer winding deformation is analyzed in theory, and the principle of the FRA method is briefly introduced. With an emphasis on studying the onsite detection method of winding deformation, the manner of circuit connection, and the influence factor of environment on FRA test results, some rules and some typical frequency spectrums of transformer windings obtained by the author are given. All test research results described in this paper show, based on the FRA method, that detection of transformer winding deformation is both effective and sensitive, in addition, the research results have some guide value and reference value on further development detection or establish a diagnosis criterion of winding deformation
