Abstract :
By referring to the 5600 radiosonde data collected from 1984 to 1991 at Misawa JDA radiosonde station near Mutsu Bay, Japan, the characteristics of the atmospheric water content were investigated. Then it was found that under cloud cover conditions of 0 or 1, the precipitable water content is restricted in a specific narrow range of the total distribution of the annual water contents. A fine day model atmosphere was constructed by averaging the sonde data of fine days. Then by using the LOWTRAN-7 model, the SST estimation function is calculated to compare with the SST estimation function derived by regression analysis to the sea truth data set
