Abstract :
A theoretical model for scattering and propagation of the electromagnetic wave in three-layered anisotropic random media is developed to study passive microwave remote sensing of Earth terrain media. The dyadic Green´s functions (DGF) for three-layered anisotropic media, which are assumed to be tilted uniaxially, are used with the Born approximation to calculate the bistatic scattering coefficients and the emissivities. The theoretical results are used to interpret passive remote sensing data from multi-layered random media such as multi-year sea ice
