Abstract :
This paper proposes a combined sub-band decomposition and frequency domain LMS algorithm for active vibration control systems. The algorithm improves the overall performance by employing the sub-band decomposition to trade-off the vibration mitigation performance among the various sub-bands and by using the frequency domain method to alleviate any constructive interference. The proposed combined algorithm is then applied to the mechanical vibration reduction of a planar surface. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm provides the flexibility to trade-off the performance of the feedback active vibration control system and that the vibration can be mitigated for certain applications.
