Title :
An elliptical corrugated horn model for radiation pattern predictions

Abstract :
A dual reflector Gregorian Ku-band offset antenna with elliptical aperture providing an elliptical coverage over Korea was designed and manufactured. The antenna is fed by an elliptical corrugated horn. Corrugated horn antennas with circular cross section can be accurately analyzed and synthesized by mode matching software. However, mode matching software for elliptical corrugated horns is not readily available. In the paper an approximate approach for analyzing the copol and crosspol patterns of elliptical corrugated horns is presented. A simple aperture formula approach for copol pattern prediction is presented as well.
