Abstract :
Strictly single-mode fibres with record core-diameters of 82 mum @ 1 mum and 130 mum @ 1.55 mum are demonstrated. They have parabolic index profile with record low index difference of ~6times10-5, achieved by innovative built-in thermal stress.
