  • Abstract
Synchronous residual time stamp (SRTS) is a technique for encoding and transporting synchronous timing for constant bit rate traffic over ATM virtual circuits. This paper presents a simplified jitter analysis for the optimal selection of the SRTS parameters within the constraints of ITU-T Recommendation I.363.1. Reasonable extensions to the existing standard are proposed that offer reduced timing jitter and/or increased robustness against cell misinsertion and cell loss
