Abstract
This paper presents an error concealment algorithm for the H.264/AVC coding standard to recover the lost motion vector. The algorithm is based on an adaptive interpolation method. The interpolation weights are estimated by the technique of mean squared error minimization and the error is raised from horizontally and vertically interpolating the available neighbors of the lost motion vectors. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently improve the picture quality when the video sequence in transmission is corrupted.
