Abstract :
The authors discuss Nonpare, a consultation system for analysis of data using nonparametric statistical procedures. It is intended to serve as an intelligent interface that will act as a guide, an instructor, and an interpreter to a body of statistical software. The essence of Nonpare is the rule-based interface to accompanying software and the interpretations of the ensuing computations. Nonpare exists as a prototype, with a limited release planned in 1989 for field testing
