Abstract :
This paper presents the design and performance of combined optical-wireless microcell system to facilitate broadband distribution networks. The design method of cyclic prefix (CP) in OFDM signal is described against an asynchronous timing due to the optical fiber length difference. Theoretical receiver sensitivity performance in uplink is clarified for optical link characteristics from the total system points of view. The new type of relay node (RN) is also proposed as one of Layer 1 relaying. The configuration and transmitting CNR are pointed out.
