Abstract
The mechanism of reconfiguration for a multi-mode reconfigurable terminal plays an important role in ensuring QoS. An effective strategy for terminal reconfiguration in heterogeneous cognitive networks is proposed. It combines the eigenvector method with the improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (improved-TOPSIS), which can rank the available reconfiguration mode alternatives with fast and simple implementation. It also provides the user with the best available QoS. Simulations are conducted under a cognitive radio network with UMTS, WiMAX and WLANs. The results show that the proposed strategy can effectively decide the optimum mode of reconfiguration.
