Abstract :
The authors show that by treating the inputs of a fuzzy system as fuzzy singletons, the architecture of a fuzzy inference processor (FIP) can be simplified significantly. The design can be implemented using mainly min/max functional blocks and presettable counters. The inference speed of the FIP is improved significantly and is potentially useful for real-time applications of fuzzy reasoning
