Abstract :
In this paper, as a consequence of theoretical didactic research, an innovative E-Learning concept and -tool to foster students´ preparation for embedded system laboratories is presented. This tool supports the students´ first programming for an ATXmega128A1 microcontroller. The concept includes an extensive use of clozures to mediate competences of embedded system development. Thus, students are enabled to develop fragments of applications without the corresponding hardware at a place and time of their choice.
