Research on the response time of supply chain based on the cost-oriented core enterprise

Response time (RT) has become an important manifestation of the supply chain (SC) capabilities, and it can be controlled other enterprise of SC for the core enterprise (CE). This paper presents the evolution of the SCCE. And the composition of the SCRT is analyzed. The SC cost model is built which consists of a supplier, a manufacturer and a retailer, and constitution of the SCRT is analyzed. In the fluctuating demand, the SC operating cost model is built based on an exponential distribution; and in the determining demand, the revenue models are built for the supplier, manufacturer, retailer and the whole SC. Through reasoning from the models, the shortest RT of the supplier and manufacturer in the SC is carried out. The results of the study can help to balance the cost and RT of the SCCE, to compress the SC operating time and to improve the competitiveness of the entire SC.
