Abstract
Describes a double ridged waveguide radiating element for use in a wideband phased array antenna. The radiating element has linear vertical polarization and is capable of operating over nearly an octave frequency bandwidth of 3.1-5.9 GHz. The radiating element is a double ridge loaded waveguide excited with a coaxial probe feed from the rear. A ceramic window is affixed over the radiating aperture to seal the aperture from the outside environment.
