Abstract :
The diffraction problem of the guided mode scattering by a finite grating of slots fabricated on one side of a metallized dielectric layer is treated. The magnetomotive force technique is essentially used. Moreover the mutual coupling effects between the slots are rigorously taken into account. The proposed method is successfully applied to the analysis of a millimeter wave periodic slotted linear array as well as to computerized design of the tapered one offering a narrow beam and reduced sidelobe level.
