Abstract :
The wire-guidance plus wake-homing torpedo requires special requirement on entrance wake distance to capture and track the target wake. Because of the limited guidance principle, the entering-wake distance depends on the battlefield situation when using the azimuth method. The guiding method through keeping distance reduces the effect of battlefield situation. However, the entering-wake distance is random due to the random noise of sonar observation. Based on the noise model of the sonar observation, the paper proposes a new guided method to minimize the mean squared-error (MSE) of the entrance wake distance, which reduces the effect of the sonar observation noise. The proposed guided method can keep the entrance wake distance statistically. Simulation results verify the improvement of wire-guidance precision of the proposed guiding method.
