Abstract
Because current ITS architecture do not answer some important problems in ITS such as how to achieve the greatest degree of various resources sharing among subsystems, how to manage dynamic business process, and how to cooperate ITS subsystems from different domains, etc. These issues could be addressed by building ITSGrid which is considered as an ideal solution for distributed heterogeneity environments of ITS. Therefore, a unified comprehension reference model for various resources in ITSGrid is needed urgently, which is a basis for ITS advanced applications. In this paper, we analyze logical structure and resource metadata model of ITSGrid, define the hierarchical and schema of ITSGrid resource class, and design a resources information description reference model for ITSGrid by RDF/XML (Resource Description Framework/Extensible Markup Language), solve the conformity problem among different ITSGrid resources, and this model could be a theoretical foundation for the sharing, scheduling, discovery and management of ITSGrid resources.
