Abstract :
This work presents preliminary results of a case study of intergenerational communication through video blogging, following a 79-year old blogger and the responses from his younger readers. An open, non-patronizing and direct form of intergenerational communication was observed, which fits into the stereotype activation model of communication framework. We report on the motivations and nature of interaction between blogger and readers and highlight some of the implications for the choice of supportive media for intergenerational communication.
