Abstract :
The trends in development and current state of the art of OP-CPA based systems that cover a variety of setups ranging from the amplification of extremely short (few cycles) to ultrahigh (petawatt-level) power optical pulses will be discussed. Due to inherently high-contrast output pulses, OPA´s of chirped pulses are increasingly adopted as front-ends of ultra-high intensity lasers.
