Abstract
Described the noise of the hybrid soliton pulse source (HSPS) utilizing a linearly chirped and Gaussian apodized fiber Bragg grating based on a time-domain solution of the coupled-mode equations. Spontaneous emission noise and relative intensity noise (RIN) is calculated using numerical solutions of these equations. It is found that noise affects the operation of the device and transform-limited pulses are not obtained
