  • Abstract
This paper shows that the influence of absorbing boundaries, as typically used in time domain iterative methods like FD-TD (Finite Difference- Time Domain) or TLM, (Transmission Line Matrix) seems to be different with respect to the electrical field compared to the influence on the magnetic field. This phenomenon is characterized and a solution for its reduction is given. The behavior is demonstrated on the examples of the apparent dielectric constant of a microstrip and a coplanar waveguide.
