Abstract
In this paper we present the system comprising of both experimental and surface preparation chamber allowing measurement of emitted photoelectrons with an electron time of flight in ultra high vacuum conditions. A novel approach to vibration isolation decouples the vacuum chambers and pumps from the optical and sample manipulation to unprecedented levels. Key to this feature was modification of a transfer arm allowing samples to be translated in 5 axes before the laser. A further modification of the arm allows 6 samples to be investigated in turn under the same experimental conditions.
