Abstract :
Travelling wave structures are proposed and demonstrated for the simultaneous improvement of intensity modulation bandwidth, modulation efficiency and impedance matching of semiconductor cascade lasers. Preliminary results using VCSELs (vertical cavity surface emitting lasers) indicate that the impedance matching properties can be significantly improved with this approach
