Abstract :
A new 8-channel OEIC (Opto-Electronic Integrated-Circuit) for DVD applications and a photoreceiver for future DVR applications with enhanced sensitivity in the blue spectral range are presented. The DVD OEIC is fabricated in a 0.8 μm twin-well CMOS technology and achieves a bandwidth of up to 109 MHz. This is a speed improvement by a factor of 1.6 compared to former published results. The blue spectral enhanced photoreceiver was integrated in a 0.6 μm BiCMOS process, using a finger-shaped photodiode as a detector
