Abstract :
In this work we propose and consider theoretically a new scheme for an athermal amplifier, which consists of the low-phonon ZBLAN rod doped with the Ho3+ ions, where three manifolds are involved in the operation: the ground and first excited manifold (5I7->; 5I8) participate in amplification process and the ground and second excited manifold (5I6 ->; 5I8) participate in cooling process.
