Abstract :
The fluctuations of the capacity of ultra-wideband (UWB) radio channels are calculated analytically. An approximation formula for the fluctuations of channel capacity is derived. It is shown that the capacity fluctuations mainly depend on the frequency-correlation function of the radio channel. The approximation formula is compared with results from simulations of UWB radio channels. Additionally, measurements of the frequency correlation function in indoor scenarios are presented.
