Abstract :
In this paper we report on various new aspects, which were achieved by writing waveguides in Pr:SrAl12O19 with fs-laser pulses. To the best of our knowledge we could demonstrate for the first time: An active dielectric crystalline waveguide laser in the visible spectral range, a Pr3+ based channel waveguide laser and the writing of waveguides into SrAl12O19 by fs-laser inscription. Furthermore we have demonstrated GalnN-diode pumping of this waveguide laser.
