Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper a directional relaying technique is proposed for protection of double circuit line. The directional relaying issues during cross country fault, far-end fault, voltage and current inversions in a double circuit line with series compensation are addressed. Four features using positive sequence components are selected and an integrated solution scheme is proposed using multi-criteria fuzzy decision approach. The technique is evaluated using data simulated with EMTDC/PSCAD for a double circuit line with and without series compensation condition and the dynamic performance of the algorithm is studied.
