Abstract :
The narrowband frequency chirped signal was generated by the frequency sweeper with the bandwidth of 200 MHz and duration of 100 ns, and then, the multiplier upconverted the signal to the bandwidth of 6.4 GHz. The electrical signal was launched into the HER modulator through the driver amplifier. For frequency doubled signal generation, the modulator was operated under a double-sideband suppressed carrier (DSB-SC) modulation condition. The optical signal source was a semiconductor laser diode (LD) operated at a wavelength of 1550 nm. The modulated optical signal was detected by a photodiode (PD).
