Abstract
In this work we use wavelength scanning and the Poincare sphere to analyze the birefringence changes induced in a single-mode erbium doped fiber when it is twisted. We compare these results with those obtained for a spun fiber. Our results indicate that twisting does not enhance circular birefringence.
