Abstract :
In the automation industry, mechanically rigid coupled systems have been used to date. In order to obtain more flexible and modular machines, the trend has moved to electronically controlled single drives. For the adaption of mechanically coupled systems to single drives controlled electronically, some assumptions have to be managed. The modularization of the entire with methods of structured analysis as well as the development of new concepts which use the possibilities of the electronic single drives are required. Further, this paper shows that, by means of timed Petri nets, a system module can be represented and simulated using a structured modeling concept. With this modeling, it becomes clear that it is reasonable for dimensioning the system to only simulate and examine the borderline cases of kinematics
