Abstract
Competitive intelligence (CI) is the practice of gathering and analyzing information about competitors in order to gain an edge in the marketplace where the potential risks and rewards are amplified. CI offers a real strategic advantage for many businesses and it is important to any business that wishes to make better-informed decisions. Taking into account these aspects, it is necessary to use the intelligence which combines permanent surveillance and chase initiatives. The purpose of this article is to explore the increasing role of CI in today´s business management and some practical aspects of how could be implemented and used this new concept.
