Abstract :
A simulation study of OFDM transmission over 10×80 km link using optical phase conjugator (OPC) and distributed Raman amplifier (DRA) combination (OPC-DRA) is presented. The suitability of forward Raman pump for achieving lowest eye opening penalty is established. A comparison of three dispersion compensating schemes, such as, dispersion compensating fiber (DCF), OPC, and OPC-DRA combination in terms of constellation diagram and eye-opening penalty (EOP) at the end of the link is also carried out.
