  • Abstract
For the Fuel Cell Engine, the air compressor driving motor is controlled by high frequency inverter system. Because of the period interruption caused by commutation and limitation of the switch frequency, there are more harmonic components in inverter during high frequency region. In this paper, harmonic analysis and simulation are presented in different voltage modulation techinques. The simulation results indicated that the Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) control provides superior harmonic characteristics and higher amplitude of the fundamental component compared with PWM control in high frequency region. Hence the PAM-controlled inverter could be a good choice for high frequency system, also a theoretical basis for harmonic suppression of inverter further.
