Abstract :
The virtual driving safety warning system is employed to remind the driver of dangerous operations in virtual driving, which can help to form good habit in real driving. The system can be divided into the hardware and software system. The hardware system is used for collecting, processing and transferring the driving operations from the driver. And the software platform is constructed by Visual C++ 6.0 and OpenGVS. According to the driving signals collected by the hardware system, the software system changes the status of the virtual vehicle with these signals. And the status of the other objects in the virtual scene, such as virtual road, obstacles and the other virtual vehicles, is also analyzed. The result of the analysis will determine whether gives a warning to the driver or not. The warning includes road departure warning, safe distance warning, and obstacle warning, etc. If the warning varies, the warning device sends different warning signals to the driver. And the warning history is recorded by the software system automatically. The data transfer in the system is realized by the serial communication procedure, the implementation of which is discussed in the software system. The research results of the paper have been applied in the virtual driving application, and get good effects.
