Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between top management support, IS management support, vendors/consultant support, and Executive Information System (EIS) success. Data was collected using a mail questionnaire from a nation-wide random sample. 70 firms that had adopted EIS responded to the questionnaire. Results of the analysis indicate that (1) top management support for EIS efforts is significantly correlated with IS management support in EIS efforts, (2) top management support for EIS efforts is significantly correlated with vendor/consultant support in EIS efforts, (3) top management support is also significantly correlated with EIS success, and (4) IS management support in EIS efforts is significantly correlated with EIS success. However, no significant correlation was found between vendor/consultant support and EIS success, and between vendor/consultant support and IS management support in EIS efforts. Implications of these findings for firms embarking on EIS efforts are discussed and directions for future research are outlined.<>
