Abstract :
The use of an object-oriented database is required to successfully accomplish the phased integration of diverse design tools and data used during the CAD process. The paper discusses the requirements for such a database and presents an interface which satisfies these requirements. Furthermore, it shows how the Cadlab implementation of this interface was used in the realization of the Cadlab workstation design environment
