Abstract :
The manikin, wearing garments with various sizes and various material mechanical properties, was scanned using 3D body scanner. Based on the clouds data of the body and garments, the program was compiled to extract the distance eases between the body and garment from different cross sections. The changing rule of the distance eases with the changes of the body angles was analyzed. It was found that the distance eases were changed irregularly with the increase of garment sizes and the uniform changing of material mechanical properties or the body angles. The distance eases were influenced by the ease allowance and the material mechanical properties. There was an internal relation between the distance eases and material mechanical properties. This research is useful in a further investigating the fit of the garments and it provides testing standard for 3D simulation of fashion design.
