Abstract
The capacitor commutated converter (CCC) has some advantages in operating at serious conditions compared to the conventional line commutated converter. However, there remain some characteristics of the CCC and the HVDC system of which have not yet been discussed in detail. To realize the CCC installation to an HVDC system, further investigation of the interaction between CCC-HVDC and AC power system is required. This paper performed the eigenvalue analysis of CCC-HVDC system including generator, AC line, converter and DC line, to recognize the interaction between them. The results show that the CCC-HVDC system enhances the system stability when compared to the conventional line commutated converter installed HVDC system
