Abstract
Starting from the value of product rendering, this article emphasizes the importance of ideal rendering software to industrial designers. Moreover, through the goal-oriented design methods, this paper establishes a user model to analyze the user characteristics of the rendering software, and suggests that generating the rendering with commercial photography effect should be taken as the ultimate goal of rendering software. Based on the persona-based scenarios analysis, this paper describes the specific requirements on the software in the process of product rendering. Then, in accordance with these requirements, a comparative assessment between Autodesk Imagestudio and Bunkspeed Hypershot - two typical representatives of rendering software - is conducted, and both their strengths and weaknesses are analyzed. This study will help software designers to have a better understanding of the users, goals and requirements of their product rendering software, thus enabling them to give birth to ideal rendering software.
