Abstract
Distance education technologies provide the environment for the integration of distributed group support systems (GSS) into existing classroom curricula. Integration of information technology beyond specific courses in the academic discipline is a requirement if transfer of learning to the world of work is to become a reality. The resistance to pedagogical changes through the utilization of technology is partially due to lack of information on strategies about how to facilitate this process. This paper presents a "field-tested" case illustration of the problems and opportunities inherent in developing complex distributed educational systems through distance education technologies.<>
