Abstract
Changes in thunderstorm activity may be the result of a cyclic recurrence, characterising all meteorological processes, or may be strengthened by the anthropogenic influence on climate. This paper presents results from statistical analyses of the temporal changes of thunderstorm activity in Siberia, Altai and Kazakhstan. The data were taken from weather stations and cover the years 1936-1995. Monitoring the long term thunderstorm activity shows the existence of climatic trends on the global as well on the regional scale
