Abstract :
Analysis and design techniques for nonuniform coupled line multiport networks are formulated. Techniques presented include the use of an enhanced piece-wise uniform stepped impedance model for general nonuniformly coupled line structures and a simple yet accurate CAD compatible SPICE model developed for identical nonuniformly coupled lines. Computed and measured results for typical structures are included to illustrate the distortion and cross-talk noise associated with coupled microstrip interconnects in microwave and high speed digital circuits.
