Abstract
In the present work, we have analyzed the mechanisms of the refractive index modification induced in a commercial Er-Yb co-doped phosphate glass upon femtosecond laser irradiation. For such a purpose we have studied the spatial distribution of photoluminescence (PL) emission features (peak intensity and peak spectral shift) of Er and Yb in guiding and non guiding structures produced by fs laser writing.
